Kinetic Engineering has relaunched its iconic Kinetic DX in an electric version under its EV division, Kinetic Watts and Volts, combining nostalgic design with modern features. Priced at ₹1,11,499 for the base DX model and ₹1,17,499 for the DX+, bookings are open online for just ₹1,000, with deliveries scheduled from September 2025. Only 35,000–40,000 units will be available in this initial rollout.

Powered by a 2.6 kWh LFP battery, the DX offers an IDC range of 116 km, extendable to 150 km with Cruise Lock. It features a 4.8 kW hub motor, 90 km/h top speed, and three ride modes. The LFP battery provides greater longevity (2,500–3,500 cycles) compared to conventional NMC cells.

Design-wise, the DX keeps the classic boxy aesthetic with new additions like full-LED lighting, an 8.8-inch LCD console, keyless Easy Key ignition, and voice alerts in 16 languages. The DX+ variant adds advanced connectivity through the Telekinetic app, geo-fencing, intruder alerts, Bluetooth music, and OTA updates.

With a competitive price under ₹1.2 lakh and smart safety features like hill-hold assist and regenerative braking, the DX EV is positioned to compete with TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1, Hero Vida, and Ather Rizta in India's growing electric two-wheeler market.
