Bigbasket Partners with Kazam to Expand EV Deliveries Across 50 Cities
Bigbasket, a Tata Enterprise and leading online grocery platform, is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) delivery fleet to 50 cities in partnership with Kazam, a provider of EV infrastructure and fleet management systems. This move aligns with Bigbasket’s strong focus on sustainability and reducing carbon emissions across its supply chain.
Currently, Bigbasket operates over 4,000 charging stations across 773 locations in India. These stations follow zero downtime, 24/7 security, and LEVAC compliance standards, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations.
Kazam will support the initiative by offering its advanced EV infrastructure and fleet management solutions, allowing Bigbasket to monitor energy usage, optimize delivery routes, enhance driver performance, and reduce operational costs through centralized management tools.
TK Balakumar, COO of Bigbasket, emphasized that sustainability is central to the company’s mission, not just a trend. The company aims to transition 60% of its delivery fleet to electric by 2030.
So far, Bigbasket has completed over 64 million green kilometers using EVs and has managed over 3.2 GWh of sustainable energy.
This partnership represents a significant step toward greener logistics in India’s e-commerce sector and sets an example for other businesses aiming for low-carbon operations.
